Halloween Follow Up/Upcoming Events

Hi Enchanted Friends:

I hope you all enjoyed Halloween season. We sure did. The Zoom Halloween Social was a great success, and we published a number of superb works on the theme. I’m so proud of our team and the writers who contributed. In case you don’t know, Amanda Bergloff, art director at EC, did the art and roundup we published on Saturday. Here’s the link in case you missed it. Kelly Jarvis contributed not only to the special edition, but wrote two bonus stories. First was “The Word Witch,” second was “Falling Faintly.” Henry Hertz offered a fun take on “MacBeth,” while our promotional expert, Molly Ellson did her best video yet to promote the social. You can still find her promo on EC’s Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Now, onto the future. We will not be doing a social for the Winter Solstice. Instead, we will put all of our efforts into making the Winter Solstice issue the biggest and best ever. Stay tuned for more details on that!

But wait, there’s more! As you know, we need money and patrons to keep going, and we are INCREDIBLY grateful for the people who support us, whether it is through Patreon or through rebating part of their $50 payment as writers that some of our chosen authors do. (It’s entirely optional.) So, to thank our patrons at $5 and $7 a month levels, I’m doing a special two-part Zoom event on Dec. 7 and 14  that will feature everything I know about getting a good night’s sleep and dealing with anxiety. The people who attend will be very surprised by how much I know about both. I’m a certified meditation teacher, having taken an 18 month course on it, as well as a reiki master healer. Almost all the teaching I do is about dealing with anxiety and sleep issues.

As an extra special thank you, tiers $5 and $7 per month will be allowed to bring a guest—someone who is or isn’t a patron (but who we hope will become one). More posts to follow soon on this.

Finally, Krampusnacht is right around the corner on Dec. 5. Did you know that I edited and anthologized two books of new Krampus tales? I did! Here are links to both with info on purchasing. The first is Krampusnacht: Twelve Nights of Krampus. The second is He Sees You When He’s Creepin’: Tales of Krampus. And for those of you who aren’t Krampus fans, but love winter tales, there’s Frozen Fairy Tales. You can find all three at this page, but you’ll need to scroll through to find the books in the format you’d like. All proceeds benefit EC, so please let me know if you buy any. You can always reach me at

That’s all for now, but stay tuned for more details soon on the Winter Solstice issue and the special meditation and anxiety Zoom events.

Stay Enchanted,

Kate Wolford
